Boat dock pest control Service
Spider infestations can be a real nuisance, primarily due to the webs they leave behind, which can be time-consuming to clean, especially when all you want is a quick trip out on the water!
However, the real trouble arises from something else spiders leave behind – their poop. You can identify it as black, brown, or gray specks, and it tends to accumulate in corners and on seat covers, becoming a major issue with larger infestations.
On Beaver Lake in Arkansas, you might encounter various types of spiders, including Orb-Weaver Spiders, Dock Spiders, Jumping Spiders, Long Jawed Orb Weaver, Black-and-Yellow Garden Spiders, Giant House Spiders, and Wolf Spiders. Among them, the Long Jawed Orb Weavers stand out as particularly troublesome.
These spiders have an interesting way of injecting poison or digestive juices through their fangs, located at the tips of the chelicerae. Interestingly, male pedipalps serve reproductive purposes for them. Additionally, spiders can control the amount of venom they deliver to suit the situation.
Tetragnathidae, a large family of spiders comprising around 1,000 species, can be found all around the world, particularly in tropical and subtropical regions. Among them, about 15 species of Long Jawed Orb Weavers (also known as "stretch spiders" and "stilt spiders") from the Tetregnatha genus are prevalent in North America. They are commonly found in vegetation near or over bodies of water.
