More Facts About Bed Bugs!

Bed bugs are small, wingless insects that feed on the blood of humans and animals. They are usually found in beds, carpets, and furniture. Bed bugs reproduce by mating. The female bed bug will lay eggs, which are about the size of a pinhead. The eggs hatch into nymphs, which will molt several times before reaching adulthood. Adult bed bugs can live for up to a year without feeding.

A bed bug's life cycle consists of five stages: Egg, Nymph, Five Nymphal Stages and Adult.

Bed bugs lay eggs in clusters of up to 200, which are tiny and white in color. These eggs then hatch into nymphs, which are immature bed bugs. Nymphs must feed on blood in order to grow and molt into the next stage. Bed bugs go through five nymphal stages before reaching adulthood. After molting, adults are able to reproduce and lay more eggs, completing the life cycle.
